It was SRO at 1871 when New Leaders Chicago presented a "Broke" book forum. Authors Hilary Denk, Amara Enyia, Jonathan Peck, Dick Simpson and Tom Tresser brought the civic knowledge and passion. CivicLab and NLC Chicago will be cooking up more civic events in the near future! The Chicago Gazette in its March 4, 2017 issue ran an article and editorial on fighting back in the Age of Trump. We're proud to say that "Chicago Is Not Broke" is featured as one of the ways they suggest Chicago can fight and organize. Holy cow! We're almost out of the initial print run of 2,000 copies of "Chicago Is Not Broke. Funding the City We Deserve." Despite the fact we we can not get the book or the civic work surrounding it covered by the Tribune, Sun-Times, WBEZ, WTTW or Crain's - we've done 32 public meetings and have ten more on the calendar. Thanks to all who helped fund the book, who purchased the book and who are talking about the book! |
